Spot is a market reference for unfabricated metal, not a guaranteed retail checkout price for a finished coin or bar.
What spot represents
Spot reflects current market trading for the underlying metal. Retail products require fabrication, wholesale distribution, inventory financing, dealer operations and delivery.
Why dealer prices differ
Dealers may use slightly different live feeds, update timing and payment-method discounts. Product demand can move premiums independently of spot.
Use spot as a denominator
Spot is most useful for calculating melt value and premium. It does not tell you whether a product has additional collectible value.
Do not chase tiny feed differences
A small difference in displayed spot may matter less than payment fees, shipping or a much larger product premium.
